Want freshwater? Then stop over-salting

Event Dates

  • Wednesday, 06/23/2021 9:00 am - 10:00 am

Event Description

All the salt that we bring into Wisconsin ends up in our freshwater. Salt dissolves but it doesn’t disappear. Chloride concentrations are on the rise in both surface and groundwater. In response, several communities across the state are taking steps to become Salt Wise Champions and are cutting their salt use by 50%+. Our drinking water and freshwater ecosystems depend on the widespread adoption of these best management practices. Join us to learn more. Register by Monday, June 21, through clicking here. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact Penny at Penny@wisconsinlandwater.org to get registered.
