Want freshwater? Then stop over-salting

All the salt that we bring into Wisconsin ends up in our freshwater. Salt dissolves but it doesn’t disappear. Chloride concentrations are on the rise in both surface and groundwater. In response, several communities across the state are taking steps to become Salt Wise Champions and are cutting their salt use by 50%+.
